General information

Visa application forms should be completed online only on the special website of the Consular Department of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation: http://visa.kdmid.ru.

Application forms should be filled in English or in Russian, printed and signed by applicants personally.

All questions in application forms should be answered. Incomplete visa application forms will not be processed. Visa application forms taken from other Internet sources as well as hand-written visa application forms will not be accepted.

Visas cannot be swapped or extended. If your travel plans has been changed after the visa issuing, you have to re-apply for a new visa. Also a new visa fee is to be paid by the applicant.

Visa processing commences only after all necessary and proper documents have been presented by an applicant and accepted by a consular officer. Incomplete set of documents may lead to refusal of visa processing, or documents may be returned to an applicant undone.

The Consular officer may request additional documents.

EU passport holders should submit travel insurance policy that is valid in the Russian Federation for the whole period of the journey.

We inform you that granting Russian visa is an advance consent to allow to visit Russia.

The decision to allow a foreigner or a stateless person to enter the territory of Russia is taken by the Russian Passport control authorities in the airports.

Forbiddance for a foreigner or stateless person to enter Russia can be caused by the following reasons: presenting false documents, inaccurate information while filling an application form in the Consulate, false or incorrect information about the true objective of visiting Russia, other doings which are found not to conform to the Russian Law.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons can verify beforehand the existence of  personal restrictions to visit Russia on the official portal of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (only in Russian) in the section «Information Services», the subsection «Verification of the existence of personal restrictions to visit Russia»

The fees for a single entry visa are:

·                     - for 4-20 working days processing: 1295 eg.pounds;

·                     - for 1-3 working days processing: 2590 eg.pounds.

The fees for a double entry visa are:

·                     - for 4-20 working days processing: 2075 eg.pounds;

·                     - for 1-3 working days processing: 4145 eg.pounds.

The fees for a multi entry visa are:

·                     - for 4-20 working days processing: 3885 eg.pounds;

·                     - for 1-3 working days processing: 7770 eg.pounds.

TOURIST VISA

Attention: Tourist visas are issued only after the approval procedure, which lasts 28-30 days after submission of all documents and paying visa fee.

In case of refusal to issue a visa – no refund.

The following documents should be submitted by an applicant in person in order to obtain a tourist visa:

1.Valid passport (with a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and  must be valid for not less than 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2.Properly and fully completed visa application form (one per person) (http://visa.kdmid.ru).

3.One recent photo of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4.Original confirmation of a reception of a foreign tourist issued by a host Russian Travel Agency. The hotel must be paid in full for the entire duration of the visa.

5.Paid tickets to Russia and back.

6.Statement of account legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt.

A tourist voucher and a confirmation must contain an applicant's name, passport number, dates and points of arrival and departure, cities to be visited, agency's reference (or registration). The stamp and all the details should be clearly readable.

Please note that a hotel booking only is not sufficient for a visa application.

 

PRIVATE VISA

The following documents should be submitted by an applicant in person in order to obtain a private visa:

1.Valid passport (with a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and  must be valid for not less than 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2.Properly and fully completed visa application form (one per person) (http://visa.kdmid.ru).

3.One recent photo of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4.Original official invitation issued by an appropriate local branch of the Russian Federal Migration Service.

 

BUSINESS AND HUMANITARIAN VISA

The following documents should be submitted by an applicant in person in order to obtain a business or humanitarian visa:

1.Valid passport (with a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and  must be valid for not less than 6 months after the expiry date of the visa. 

2.Properly and fully completed visa application form (one per person) (http://visa.kdmid.ru).

3.One recent photo of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4.Original official Invitation issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or by an appropriate local branch of the Russian Federal Migration Service.

 

WORK VISA

The following documents should be submitted by an applicant in person in order to obtain a work visa:

1.Valid passport (with a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than one and a half-year after the expiry date of the visa. 

2.Properly and fully completed visa application form (one per person) (http://visa.kdmid.ru).

3.One recent photo of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4.Original official Invitation issued by an appropriate local branch of the Russian Federal Migration Service.

5.HIV blood test (AIDS) Certificate legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. This certificate is valid for 3 month only (HIV blood test should be taken not earlier than 3 months before applying for a visa).

 

STUDENT VISA

The following documents should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy by an applicant in person in order to obtain a student visa:

1.Valid passport (with a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than one and a half-year after the expiry date of the visa. 

2.Properly and fully completed visa application form (one per person) (http://visa.kdmid.ru).

3.One recent photo of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4.Original official Invitation issued by an appropriate local branch of the Russian Federal Migration Service.

5.HIV blood test (AIDS) Certificate legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. This certificate is valid for 3 month only (HIV blood test should be taken not earlier than 3 months before applying for a visa).

 

TRANSIT VISA

The following documents should be submitted by an applicant in person in order to obtain a transit visa:

1.Valid passport (with a copy) which should have at least two clear visa pages and must be valid for not less than one and a half-year after the expiry date of the visa. 

2.Properly and fully completed visa application form (one per person) (http://visa.kdmid.ru).

3.One recent photo of an applicant sized 3,5 x 4,5 cm.

4.Valid tickets for entry and exit from the Russian Federation.

5.Valid visa to the country you want to enter after leaving Russia or passport of that state. 

Temporary suspension of visa free regime between Russia and Turkey

As of January 1, 2016, the Russian Federation has partly suspended the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Turkish Republic on terms of mutual visits by citizens of Russia and Turkey of May 12, 2010, with regard to trips by citizens of Turkey in possession of ordinary passports for travel abroad.

Starting this date the mentioned citizens have to apply for Russian visas in one of diplomatic or consular missions of the Russian Federation in accordance with the acting Russian legislation.

This measure is not applicable to those citizens of Turkey who have temporary or permanent residence permits on the territory of Russia, those citizens of Turkey who have been sent to work to diplomatic representations and consulates of the Turkish Republic on the territory of Russia, who hold valid service and special passports, and their family members holders of service, special or ordinary passports, citizens of Turkey who holds sailor passports and have ship’s roll or its copy as well as those citizens of Turkey who had lost their documents of identification while on territory of the Russian Federation and obtained in a diplomatic representations or a consulate of Turkey a travel document or a temporary passport.

Those citizens of Turkey who entered the territory of the Russian Federation before January 1, 2016 in accordance with Article 1 of the said Agreement can stay and leave the territory of the Russian Federation without visa in virtue of valid documents of identification on condition that the duration of their permanent stay on the territory of the Russian Federation is no longer than 30 days from the date of their entry.
